Peter Whiting is a senior-level international executive, entrepreneur and private equity operating partner with more than 30 years of experience of the industrial, metals, contracting, energy and defense sectors. He has a strong background in acquisitions, business restructuring, turnaround and post-acquisition integration.
Peter spent 14 years as Chairman/CEO of PTC Group Holdings (Pittsburgh Tube), a global leader in steel tubing, achieving a ten-fold increase in profitability over that period. Between 2009 and 2015, he was a member of the Operating Committee of a leading hedge fund with $8 billion in assets under management that makes control debt and equity investments in distressed companies.
Earlier in his career, Peter held positions of increasing responsibility with three oil majors—British Petroleum, Conoco Philips and Mobil Oil Company—including a stint as a field engineer in the North Sea.
Peter also played a senior operational role in the restructuring of the UK Naval Dockyards and has led restructuring projects in the United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, China and Taiwan. Previously, he was a Director of Arclin Cayman Holdings, FXi (Foamex Innovations), TFL and numerous other businesses.
Peter served on the Board of the Metals Service Center Institute from 2010 to 2015. He received a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) from Cardiff University (UK), and an MBA from the Henley Business School (UK). He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE) and a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng). Peter is a citizen of both the United States and the United Kingdom.
