Stephen M. Welborn

Stephen Welborn joined Wynnchurch in 2009, bringing with him over 25 years of broad-based finance, sales, marketing and operations experience. Prior to joining Wynnchurch, Stephen served as Chief Operating Officer of Gateway Marketing International, a full-service direct marketing agency in Chicago. Previously, he spent 13 years with AT&T (formerly SBC) in a variety of executive capacities, including Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Sales and Service.

Stephen’s prior experience also includes 10 years in banking, including commercial lending, real estate lending, investment banking and structured finance. He served as Managing Director and led the start-up of the flagship office of Adams Harris, Inc., a VC-funded professional financial services firm in Chicago.

Experience

Since joining Wynnchurch, Stephen has been involved in numerous transactions, including acquisitions, add-ons, and restructurings. As a former CFO and banker, he has been involved in all facets of finance, accounting and banking, experience that includes debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning. He lead the divestiture of a $1B asset of AT&T as CFO of SecurityLink, a division of AT&T, as well as numerous wireless acquisitions.
