Wynnchurch Capital Announces the Promotion of Chris O’Brien to Managing Partner

Rosemont, IL – September 12, 2017 — Wynnchurch Capital, LLC (“Wynnchurch”), is pleased to announce the promotion of Chris O’Brien to Managing Partner.

Mr. O’Brien has over 21 years of private equity investing and corporate advisory experience. He plays a significant role in the ongoing management of Wynnchurch and in all facets of the firm’s investment activities. His experience includes leadership roles in a substantial number of Wynnchurch’s investments during his sixteen years with the firm, including: SafeWorks, Webex, NSC Minerals, US Pipe, Pro-Fab, Humanetics, US Manufacturing, Wolverine Advanced Materials and Latham International. In 2013, Mr. O’Brien was part of the Wynnchurch team recognized by the TMA for their work on U.S. Pipe as a recipient of the Large Turnaround of the Year.

Mr. O’Brien originally joined Wynnchurch in 2000 as an Associate shortly after the firm’s founding. He rejoined Wynnchurch in 2005 as a Vice President after earning his M.B.A. and was later promoted to Managing Director and then Partner. Mr. O’Brien earned his B.B.A. in Finance, with honors, from the University of Notre Dame and his M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). In addition, Mr. O’Brien served as a board member of Horizons for Youth, a Chicago based volunteer organization whose mission is to enable students from low-resource neighborhoods to become the first in their families to graduate from college.

Stampede Meat processes and distributes portioned, marinated and cooked beef, chicken, and other protein products for restaurants, retail, home delivery and other channels. Other recent Wynnchurch investments include Rosboro Company, LLC, a leading integrated forest products operation producing a wide variety of products including laminated beams, studs, and veneer; and Texas Hydraulics, a designer and manufacturer of highly engineered hydraulic cylinders and swivels for the global mining, energy, construction, and utility markets.
