BUSINESS: Highway Technologies is a leading provider of traffic safety services and equipment for the road repair, construction and maintenance industry. Highway Technologies' core services include traffic control planning and services, pavement marking, permanent sign and guardrail installation, as well as related merchandise and equipment rental and sales. Customers include highway construction companies, Departments of Transportation, municipalities and utilities. Highway Technologies generates approximately $270 million in revenue with 44 branch locations in over 30 states and employs approximately 1,500 people.
TRANSACTION: Wynnchurch Capital partnered with Oak Hill Special Opportunities Fund, a New York-based special situations investment fund, to acquire the traffic control business ("Highway Technologies") from United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI).
