BUSINESS: Buse and Connection Concepts are leading providers of electronic cable assemblies and wire harnesses.
TRANSACTION: In 2000 Wynnchurch purchased Connection Concepts, a manufacturer of custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses primarily for the telecommunications industry based in Naperville, IL. Late in 2001, Connection Concepts bought a controlling interest in Buse Industries, a custom cable and wire harness assembly manufacturer based in Bridgeton, MO. Buse serves a diverse group of customers in the medical, industrial and aerospace industries.
STRATEGY: Combining the two companies was part of a plan to acquire well-managed cable/wire harness manufacturing, mechanical sub-assembly and distribution companies, generating synergies that provide increased value to their customer base.
RESULTS: Connection Concepts/Buse Industries subsequently acquired Lectronix Plus, Cleveland, LLC and RBIQ4 over the past few years. The add-on acquisitions have created a leading manufacturer of custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses with unsurpassed distribution and inventory management expertise.
