BUSINESS: Headquartered just outside Seattle, SafeWorks is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of powered suspended access and safety solutions.
TRANSACTION: Wynnchurch partnered with the company's management team and acquired the company from a group of high net worth individuals in August 2006.
BACKGROUND: SafeWorks was formed in 1997, but its leading products have a history that goes back nearly 60 years. It has a leading market position, recognized brands and outstanding management team. SafeWorks is the recognized North American leader in providing suspended powered access solutions to the high-rise building and industrial markets for both new construction and restoration.
OPPORTUNITY: The former owners of the business had held their investment for almost 10 years and were looking for a liquidity event after enduring a cyclical downturn.
STRATEGY: Wynnchurch is working with Scott Farrell, our recently promoted CEO partner, to continue investing in new products and distribution channels, as well as continuing to address new and growing end market opportunities that benefit from SafeWorks unique products and capabilities.
