Mr. Malone is the former President of Milliken & Company, one of the largest privately owned textile companies in the U.S., where he enjoyed a 22 year career and was known for his customer driven, quality focused leadership in the textile and chemical industries. Milliken & Company received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award under Mr. Malone’s leadership. Mr. Malone holds a Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) where he was rewarded with National Merit, Ethyl Corporation, and Procter & Gamble fellowships and memberships in Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi honorary scholastic fraternities.
Mr. Malone is currently the Chairman of the Board of the Georgia Tech Research Corporation Ireland. He is a trustee of the Institute of Textile Technology in Charlottesville, Virginia, and a former trustee of the Georgia Tech Research Corporation and is a member of a number of textile associations, chemical institutes and professional societies. He has served on the Board of Textile Hall Corporation, where he now serves as Director Emeritus of the J. E. Sirrine Foundation. He founded and served as Interim Chairman and Advisor of the Six Sigma Safety/Quality Initiative Pursuit of Excellence in LaGrange/Troup County (S.U.C.C.E.S.S.)
